About Showstoppers

Showstoppers Academy of Performing Arts Ltd. is a performing arts studio serving Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows since 2008. We are dedicated to training children in the art of Musical Theatre. Within a positive and constructive environment we encourage students to develop and grow as performers. Training in dance, voice and acting will make them a “triple threat” and, more importantly, they will gain self confidence and learn to work together. We accept all children into the program regardless of experience.

Training opportunities include: Broadway style production classes, jazz, tap, and hip hop plus private lessons for voice. We are certain that all students from preschool to senior ages will have a chance to nurture and grow their inner star!
Performance opportunities include: Broadway style production classes culminate in an actual show in local theatre space, all performance-based classes perform at the year end recital celebrating everything accomplished throughout the year.
Travel opportunities include: both Glee and Show Choir travel to California to perform at Disneyland and train with Disney professionals, senior students can travel to New York to participate in the Broadway Student Summit (includes show tickets and training with Broadway professionals).

Chad and Erin Matchette have been part of the Lower Mainland theatre scene since high school—bringing big-stage experience, behind-the-scenes know-how, and a whole lot of heart to everything they do. Chad is also Co-owner + Artistic Director of Align Entertainment, producing large-scale, family-friendly theatre that keeps audiences coming back year after year. At the core? A mission to create a fun, safe space where every student feels seen, valued, and inspired to shine—onstage and off.
