Showstoppers Academy's Instructors have completed a
200 Hour Instructor Training Program or have received a Diploma in Theatre/Musical Theatre/Voice/Dance
Each of our Instructors must have a strong passion for Musical Theatre and sharing that passion with their students.
Miss Ashleigh is the founder and creator of Showstoppers Academy which was established in 2008. She has a love for each of her students and feels honoured to have been a part of so many incredibly talented children's lives. She started Dance when she was 3 and found a love for Musical Theatre at age 9. She has been teaching/directing for 16 years and has loved every minute of it. She is a graduate of Capilano University's Theatre Program with a Diploma in the Arts. In 2017 and 2018 Miss Ashleigh gained Training through the Broadway Teachers Program in New York City. Before she began teaching, Miss Ashleigh's favourite past roles were, Anne in "Anne of Green Gables" and Audrey in "Little Shop of Horrors".
Miss Ashleigh believes There are no small roles, only small actors.
Miss Nicole has been teaching along side Miss Ashleigh for 11 years and has completed the 200 hour Instructor Training Program as well as the Broadway Teachers Training Program in New York City. She is a compassionate teacher and friend to her students. Nicole grew up singing and dancing. Her favourite past roles are, Miss Hannigan in "Annie", Horton in "Seussical the Musical" and Babette in "Beauty and the Beast". Miss Nicole went to post secondary school for Early Childhood Education and she loves sharing her passion for the Arts with her students. Her favourite place to be is Showstoppers.
Miss Sam is going into her 8th year teaching at Showstoppers and couldn’t be more excited for a new season! On top of completing the 200 hour Instructor Training Program she has many years of dance and acting experience and is a Showstoppers alumni. She attended the Broadway Teachers Training Program and Student Summit in both 2017 and 2018. She made her directorial debut with Disney’s The Lion King in 2017 and could not imagine doing anything else with her life. Sam strives to be an inspiring and enthusiastic teacher, and loves to share her passion for the stage with her students. She recently appeared in TIC’s production of Hunchback of Notre Dame and choreographed for Gallery 7’s Pride and Prejudice in 2018.
Miss Ashlyn was involved in Showstoppers Academy for many years, and is thrilled to be returning as member of the teaching team. She has loved performing since a young age and never imagined pursuing anything else. RA graduate from the Musical Theatre Program at Capilano University she is excited to share her knowledge and passion for theatre with young aspiring performers. Some of her credits include Thoroughly Modern Millie (Exit 22), Beauty and the Beast (Theatre Under the Stars), and The Who’s Tommy (Arbutus Studios).
Mr. Nicholas Bradbury is a skilled Acting Coach at various Musical Theatre Academy’s in the Lower Mainland. He is an inspiring teacher with lots of energy. He studied Musical Theatre at Capilano University and has been performing on stage and screen in Vancouver for years. Mr. Nicholas graced the stage as Lefou in “Beauty and the Beast” at Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park for Theatre Under The Stars and performed in Grease the Musical on the Island for a 3 month run. Mr. Nicholas will be reviving his role as Lefou at the Stanley Alliance Theatre this winter. Showstoppers is very exited to have Mr. Nicholas as part of the team!
Miss Ali has been performing dance, acting, theatre and vocals since a very young age. In fact, she is a Showstoppers Alumni having played Harold Hill in “The Music Man” (2013), Mrs. Meers in “Thoroughly Modern Millie” (2012) and Gaston in “Beauty and the Beast” (2011). Miss Ali is a graduate from Capilano University’s Musical Theatre Program and has gone on to perform throughout the Vancouver area both on stage and on screen. She was incredible on stage as Mimi in the hit musical “Rent” and has spent two summer on th eisland performing in Grease and Mamma Mia. Ali believes “Life should be a Musical”. She is the one you see dancing in the aisles of the store like no-one is watching.
Miss Natasha has been a performer since before she can remember. Training in Musical Theatre, Dance, Voice and Competitive Figure Skating as a child. Miss Natasha continued her Musical Theatre and Voice training at Sheridan University in Ontario for 4 years. Miss Natasha now teaches voice and dance throughout the Lower Mainland as well as performing herself. Some of her past performance roles include Athos in “The Three Musketeers”, Tiger Lily in “Peter Pan” and Millie in “Thoroughly Modern Millie”. Miss Natasha is so excited to return to Showstoppers for another season!
Miss Jaya has successfully completed the 200 hour Instructor Training Program working under Miss Sam for 3 years and has been a student at Showstoppers Academy for nine years. Some of her past roles include Lily St. Regis in Annie and Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast. Miss Jaya also has a passion for piano and Dance which she has been doing for the past 10 years. This is Miss Jaya’s fourth year teaching and she is very excited to have the chance to work with all her students and help them achieve their musical goals.
Miss Dara has been a student at Showstoppers Academy for 9 years and started assisting in 2017. She has extensive Dance Training from a young age and looks forward to completing the 200 Hour Instructor Training Program at Showstoppers Academy. Some of her past roles include Wendy in "Peter Pan" (2016) and Mrs. Brill in "Mary Poppins" (2018). She very much enjoys Ballet, Jazz and Tap as well as Voice under the instruction of Miss Natasha. She loves being in the Masters Class and assisting in the younger student's classes.
